[Opinions] Lennox
Today at the zoo I encountered a little girl (~3) named Lennox. It immediately brought to mind singer Annie Lennox and the character Mary Lennox from The Secret Garden as associations. After seeing it in use I've developed a slight crush on it. I'd never heard it for a girl and had no idea it charted as such in the US!
What do you think of Lennox for a girl? Just for fun, what middle name and/or sibling names would you suggest?
Thanks!

Wow really!
I have a friend whose son is named Lennox. I dislike it more from hearing it on a person. I think it's just ugly and not very namey. On a girl... hmm. Maybe even a little better.
The mom gently calls him "Len" a fair amount.
Uhh. On a girl?
Lennox Rachel
Lennox Madison
Lennox Valerie
Lennox Rylee
Lennox Jamie
Lennox Julia
Lennox Hadley
Lennox Bristol
Lennox Kristen
Just throwing out stuff. Wow that is not my usual repertoire. Unusual style of name for me.

It makes me think of “lummox”.
I think it sounds sweet on a girl, kinda like Rowan! And btw Lennox and Rowan would totally make a cute sibset! Maybe for twins, even?

It reminds me of the word lummox, and I struggle to see its appeal. Lennucks? Is it just the X and the Len sound? I could like Lenna or Lenneke, but Lennox just doesn't work for me.
With the Annie Lennox association it sounds weirdly 20th centuryish and surnamey to me. Like using Moyet as a girl name.

I can definitely see the similarity to 'lummox'. Lenna and Lenneke are nice alternatives!

I think Lynna is a pretty name.
I hate it for girls, there is absolutely nothing Feminine, unisex or gender neutral about Lennox, it's all boy to me.
I can respect that.
Thanks!

Lennox has flit on and off of my long list within the last year. I first heard it on a girl on the show 'Melissa and Joey' where a main, female, teenage character wore it (and wore it well, imo). I definitely think hearing it in real life would boost it too!
I'd name Lennox's sister, Peyton. Not sure about a brother, maybe Kaden or Jack.

I never watched Melissa and Joey so I had no knowledge of Lennox being used in it. Strange how some names seem to pop up and you have no idea they've been around a while.
Thanks!

I think Lennox is a lovely name for both genders, even though I usually prefer old-fashioned names. It sounds very youthful and energetic!
Some middle names I think sound good with Lennox are:
Lennox Alexandra
Lennox Clemency
Lennox Eleanora
Lennox Genevieve
Lennox Magdalene
Lennox Philomena
Some brothers for Lennox (for some reason, I couldn't think of any feminine names): August, Cedric, Graham, Jasper, Roland, Victor

I have to agree, it does sound rather youthful and energetic!
Of the combos you provided I think my favorites are Lennox Alexandra and Lennox Genevieve. With Alexandra, I love the repeated 'le' and 'x' in the middle. Genevieve seems to fit the style of the name really well and I could see them actually being used together.
Great sibling names! I couldn't think of a sister either. :)
Thank you!

It was the name of a female contestant on ANTM not too long ago, I also developed a slight crush on it when I saw it in use and the Secret Garden association makes me like it more now! It’s definitely more of a GP then anything I’d ever actually consider using though.
Perhaps Lennox Faye?
Possible siblings: Hazel, Ivy, Carter (m)

I haven't seen ANTM in years so I had no idea! It's definitely more of a GP for me as well.
Lennox Faye is cute!
For some reason I can definitely see Carter (m) and Lennox as siblings. It just has that vibe.
Thanks!

I honestly don't care for it and I think it sounds especially bad for a girl, with or without Lenny.
It sounds like something one might name a dog or cat, not their child. Or a name of a large corporation.
Just not my cup of tea.

Lenny definitely lowers the appeal for me. And it really does sound like it would be a large corporation.
