I find it kind of boring, don't hate it, don't love it.

I've only met one that I remember. She was born in the mid '80s.
I'm surprised the name's so old. It seemed modern or industrial sounding to me when I was a kid.
I can see why it'd appeal to people, but it's never been one of my favs.

Well... this just so happens to be my name. (: Admittedly I went through a phase of hating it as a child but as I became older, It grew on me. I've learn to embrace it. I wouldn't change it. I admire the fact that it's feminine, classic/timeless and is a known name but isn't overused to an obnoxious extent. (In fiction or in reality) At least from my personal experiences. Also, I like the fact that I don't have to spell it out often. Once I state my name, there it is, already written. Many don't question the spelling.
However, it is annoying when:
1: People associating it as an 'old-ladies'name, which quite honestly never made sense to me. I've known 3 or 4 other Audrey's and trust me, they are FAR from being elderly. Coincidentally, they were all very pleasant and down to earth. (I've yet to encounter someone unpleasant with my name) 2 were classmates who I never hung out with but were nonelesstheless decent individuals (as already mentioned) and 1 who I became good freinds with.
2: People mistaken it for, yes, AuBrey! Ugh. A name I don't care for regardless. Audrey 100% even if it wasn't my own.
3: No decent nicknames (IMO) with the exception of 'Audzilla' :D Of course nicknames aren't everything. I'm just simply stating that I don't care for any of the typical ones for this name.
It is what it is. I still like it.

I love Audrey, its classic, elegant, feminine but strong and it ages well.

I prefer Aubrey (: I think it's softer whereas Audrey has a harsh sound to it. Audrey Hepburn is a great association, but I still prefer it as middle name.

Drab and dreary; well suited to overweight, middle-aged heavy smokers who work in a dry-cleaner depot.

(: your comment makes me chuckles because litterly none of those describe me. 25, FAR from being overweight, HIGHLY against smoking (I mean my own mother passed away last May due to those things which naturally makes me even MORE against them) also, can't say that I've ever worked in the dry-cleaning buisness. *laughs* not that I would really mind if I did.

Well, I have yet to meet a young Audrey, but I have met several Aubreys. I think it's fine, but it probably will rise in popularity. My cousin was considering it when she was still pregnant with her daughter, and she's millennial age, so, IDK.

Wow, I had the exact opposite expirence from you. I've never met an old Audrey before. Even an middle aged one, strangely.
I don't see it rising anymore. I think it had its resurgence, although short. I mean who knows. Increase or decrease, I just hope it removes from where it currently rests at. /:

It would be on my list if I lived in an English speaking country. I like it, and it's so much better and classier than Aubrey

I am so tired of this name. I keep hearing it and there at least three in my daughter's school. It has lost all charm to me, much like Sophia.
