Hello, I had to respond to this post when I found it because my maiden name is also Felty, and my married name is Wilson! I had always been told by my parents that Felty's were German. This made sense because my father always said his father grew up in the Amish Country of Pennslyvania and was some form of Amish or Mennonite before he left that area as a young adult. I was surprised when I had a DNA test done from Ancestory.com that results were 0 percent German, but 35 percent Scandinavian. I was not aware of any Scandinavian relatives however upon further research I learned that many Americans have some percentage of Scandinavian DNA due to the Viking Period. The Vikings settled in many different areas of Europe. I realize this doesn't rWally answer your question but I found it very interesting, good luck on your search!
