It screams 'Russia' for me, and I'm really not a fan of anything that has to do with that country. So no. There are so many other (and better) Leo- names to choose from. My favorites are Leo, Leon, Leonidas and Leopold.

Hi !!!I think that Leonid is gorgeous and interesting as Russian name.Leo- names are increasing in popularity where I live and I agree with this fact. Leonid is better than Leonida (Italian form) because it is more masculine and strong imo. It is worse than Leonidas though.

In Russian, Leonida is a feminine name. Personally I think Leonida looks better on a girl.

I agree with you. Unfortunately is this the Italian masculine form.
