Reign Victoria is actually really pretty. It is a little much given the Queen, but I'm coming around to Reign and actually prefer it to Rain/Raine.

Queen Victoria used to sign as 'Victoria Regina' which is just Queen Victoria in Latin. Reign Victoria makes me think of that. It's hard to avoid the association with Queen Victoria I think.

Dislike them all. They’re a mix of surnames, nicknames as full names, current fads, and ‘creative’ spellings. These really aren’t my taste in names. Nothing “wrong” with them, they’re just really not my style at all.

Were they British because it seems very royalist?

My first impression is that they really like kings and queens and were trying for a ‘royal’ feel. I don’t like the name Reign, I’m not a fan of word names. I love Victoria and if they wanted that ‘royal’ feel Victoria would be a perfect first name as a lot of people no matter where you live will have heard of Queen Victoria.

Well yeah, it was also recently used on more than 600 babies in 2017, and ranked #704 for girls and #956 for boys in the US.

I like the sound of the combo, if I just hear it as sounds, Rain Victoria, and don't get stuck on the idea of Queen Victoria that it suggests to me. Rain / Reign sounds nice enough, either word is reasonably namey, and Reign does seem less glum and gray than Rain would. It's not my style, I don't really "get" Reign as a name, kinda like I don't get Saint as a name - but I am guessing it'll continue to get more popular for a little while. Seems very trendy (as in, a very current and rising style, which may or may not last).
