The first of my Facebook friends had her first child two days ago. It's a girl and her name is Greta Rose. The surname is a one-syllable one that starts with an F and both parents are from Australia. What do you think?

I like that they went for a rather old-fashioned name that isn't in the top 100 of Australia, though Greta might be an itty little bit on the heavy side for a baby. I'm sure she'll quickly grow into it, though! :)

It’s lovely. Greta is a classic with a good meaning, and it flows really well with Rose. Tbh I think this name is pretty much perfect.

Greta's cute imo, so it seems appropriate for a baby. The only reason it'd sound heavy to me would be if I thought all names with a hard G sounded heavy...

I think Rose sounds quaint with it (reminds me of rosy cheeks in old hand-colored photos), but it's a nice, wearable combo, overall.

Aw I think Greta is quite cute, good for both little ones and adult usage. Rose is nice in the combo, even though it is overused, it grounds it.

I adore the name Greta! Some believe that it sounds harsh or "heavy" as what you mentioned but I just see it as a classic beauty that I would love to hear more often. I personally only met one in my lifetime (A girl a few grades below me) Another association that I have is my main protagonist who I'd given this name to. :D

Rose is a classic beauty as well but not something that I would pair with Greta. Though, the combination isn't bad by any means.

Greta is an adorable name. I'm neutral on Rose. Greta Rose as a combo is nice.

I wouldn;t say Greta is a favourite of mine, but I like it. It's a name ready for a come-back I think. I don't even mind the 'Rose' as a filler.
