[Opinions] Re: Zoella

Zoe is one of my favorite names because it's like, quintessentially feminine (literally a translation of Eve), yet sounds nothing like most typical womens names. and it can give off so many different impressions, it can easily sound harsh or cutesy, strong or delicate, etc.
but Zoella ruins that. it gives the impression that someone didn't think Zoe sounded feminine enough, so they tacked on one of the most boring and frilly girl's name endings.
....ok i just looked it up to find similar names to suggest, and apparently it's from the name Zoellus. so choosing it with that history/meaning in mind is better than just for a frillier twist on Zoe, but it still gives that impression to me. at least it's more interesting than a lot of other -ella names. i feel a bit like a jerk for jumping to conclusions, but i'll still post this because it's my first impression.
