[Opinions] Kennedy on a boy
What do you think? I would use it as a middle name because it was my maternal great great great grandmother's maiden name

I think it's fine, even as a fn - it shortens so comfortably to Ken, which is very masculine. And the mn slot is perfect for family names.
Go for it! If it has family significance (though great great great grandmother is pretty far back haha), I personally like surnames as middle names. I've always thought Kennedy sounded masculine anyway, I think it'd be awesome to see on a boy for once :)
I dislike this name but it definitely suits a boy more. It doesn't sound remotely feminine and using the potential nicknames on a girl would be even more ridiculous!
I think it’s ugly as hell but as an honoring surname in the middle name spot I think it’s fine.

The meaning is terrible
I can’t recommend it on anyone as a first name. It means “misshapen head.”
As an honoring surname it’s fine, but only as a middle, just imho.

Ha I think the meaning is kind of charming.
Yep.
My nieces and daughter always laugh when I tell them what Kennedy means

Ditto
These sorts of names imply non-superficial values and I like that.
Lots of babies have misshapen heads at birth.
(and anyway as irene says, it might be some kind of lost metaphor)

Me, too. I like those quirky meanings.
i always assumed that "armoured head" was the more accurate meaning? which is a great meaning actually imo, though really...awful when in contexr of the president.
i like it far better than on a girl, because on a girl it gives the impression to me that it was chosen because it sounds cute, with the president/other namesakes just an afterthought. like how Reagan is so popular on girls and i've seen people discuss the name with zero mention of the elephant in the room.
anyway though, it's especially good as a middle name- it's catchy, lol.

I like it much better on a boy than a girl.
I absolutely loathe the name on either gender when it’s given for different reasons, but as an honouring middle name it’s fine.
