The name "MEGARA" derives from "MEGAS" = "big, full-grown, great", while the name "
MEGAERA" derives from the verb "MEGAIRO" = "regard as too great": hence, "grudge one a thing as too great for him", from "MEGAS" + verb "GERAIRO" = " to honour or reward with", from "GERAROS" = "of reverend bearing, majestic", from "GERAS" = "a gift of honour".
PS: "MEGARA" is still a city in Greece, not far from Athens.
"Until the day that an ancient inscription is found with the name "Alexandrovski" (or "Alexandrev" or "Alexandrov") written on it instead of "
ALEXANDROS", true Macedonia and true Macedonians will remain Greek, as they always were."
