It's okay. I prefer Moana, which is what she's called in most countries.
It was the name the Italians used for Moana, same movie different name! Haha!
I like it. The meaning fits other Tahitian names (objects are a common theme), and the sound is nice, at least in English. Disney using it basically makes it unusable (at least in the West / outside of Tahiti), because that’s the only association people will have with it.
Reminds me of that scene in Coal Miner's Daughter... "Get you and Herman a jar of Vyannies" (Vienna sausages).
