Background:
Alexandra, better known as Princess Lexa, is the first-born of the first-born of the current reigning monarch, Queen Mary, in the democratic country, Corland. She has recently married Simon, a viscount by inheritance, after meeting and falling in love with him at university. In Corland, the monarch has a small amount of power: most is wielded by a democratic government but a large proportion of Corland's popularity are still royalists.

Simon is injured during a skiing holiday abroad. Lexa is so worried about him as he has to have several operations on his leg and his ongoing heart condition makes surgery risky. He pulls through though and is back on his feet in 5 months.
