The pronunciation isn't really more of a pain than Marie is. What I don't like is how the E may tend to get dropped if the second syllable is stressed, and it becomes Shree. I had a friend who named a cockatiel Cherie. Nice bird name. I don't really mind it as a human name but it's nms because of the "what if she goes to a French speaking place." And also it's got a certain playful 60s style that didn't age well, like Misty, Nikki, Starla, Candy.- mirfak
