[Opinions] Re: Evelyn, Eleanor, and Elizabeth
I actually prefer Evelyn (EEV-lin) on boys, like Evelyn Waugh, who wrote one of my favourite books. I never know what do with it on a girl, is it EV-ə-lin or EV-lin? I can certainly see the appeal, anyway, but I would prefer Eveline on a girl. Eleanor is the name of a friend of mine and I do like it, but I prefer Nora and Leonora. I also like Elizabeth, but do prefer Elisabeth or even just Eliza. The only Elizabeths I have ever known have gone by the full name, which is nice.

EEV-lin has such a smooth, pleasant sound. I think it might be a tad counter-intuitive to the way language has involved now. You'd probably have to use Eve Lynn, if at all.
