It's odd but all of the Irene's I know are around my age or younger. I've always liked it although I've definitely never loved it. Esther I used to hate because it is so close to the word polyester. Also it seems like an old lady name. I no longer hate the name Esther but its only okay. I also used to hate Edith because it made me think of Edith and Archie Bunker. But then I started to like the nn Edie because of EDI from Mass Effect and I started associating Edith with Edith Piaf instead of Bunker. Now I like the name Edith.
Just based on sound I like both combos about equally but since I prefer Irene I chose Irene Edith although my favorite combo is Edith Irene but I know you want to keep Edith as your middle name.
