Idris always felt feminine to me because it is the name of a female character in Tolkien's universe. But I like it for either gender.

I like Emrys as well, and Emeric.

Sometimes sentences don't end the way you think they salad.

Tolkien doesn't have any female characters named Idris. I think you mean Idril.
