I havent met any one called Buffy i once knew a girl who went by the nickname of Lizbuff but that was only because her little sister couldnt say her name right :) eventually it became just Liz

Elizabeth lends itself to some odd nicknames ... Lizbuff is pretty crazy. There is a girl that lives next door to me named Elizabeth who goes by LizardBreath ....

I don't think so. It just seems to have stuck. But she doesn't seem to mind it at all.
