Sounds a little dated to me but not bad. I think Maren sounds a bit dated too, but less so than Maris. I want to like them because of the meaning but idk... I've never met a Maris; I have met a young (born in the 90s) Maren but I thought the name sounded too old for her.

If the first syllable rhymed with bar instead of mare I would definitely like both names, but in my accent it's like "mare" and that's what makes them sound dated IMO.

I kind of like the sound but like Anneza my first thought was the Maris Piper potato so I'm not sure it would work here.

I like Maris quite a bit - it's one of those "Mary names" you don't see very often. It functions particularly well as a middle name, imo; Julia Maris used to be a stock combo of mine.

I quite like it. I like Maren a bit more, but Maris is lovely.
