I've only ever heard it as "o-DISS-ee-us," the same as you. Good to see the name being used. But yeah, that's an odd pronunciation. Maybe it's more authentically Greek than "o-DISS-ee-us." Would love to read what others think. Side note: I much prefer Ulysses.

Wow, I have always pronounced it the same way as the rest of you, but upon reading this, I called my Greek friend, and she pronounced it the same way that you described the guy from the video pronouncing it. I tried to find references online that corroborated her but to no avail. The only extra support I could find was that if you translate Odysseus to Greek on google translate, it pronounces it the same way as the guy from the Buzzfeed video.
