I like it but it does seem really frilly.
Definitely too frilly. Violet is better.
Hi !!!
I love Violetta since I was a child.
It is a floreal name (I think it is the same meaning of Pansy) and I love this theme.
After that it is a literarian/artistic name. Do you know 'La traviata' by Verdi. Violetta is the protagonist.
I love it for both reason.
Unfortunately in my genetation the Argentinian telenovela Violetta was quite trendy in my generation. So I'm afraid that people with my same age -or few ages low- would think it was after it.

It's a beautiful name and I don't find it frilly or over elaborate.
I do prefer Violet though

I love it! I'd say it's more baroque than frilly.
I really like Violetta! Actually I'm debating Violetta vs Violeta vs Violette for my list right now. It's strong, exotic, elegant, and passionate. I don't think it's too frilly at all, maybe because it has personality and imagery behind it to back it up and give it some substance. Plus I don't really see Etta as that frilly an ending, in comparison to say -ella. I think Violetta has a really great sound, so much nicer than Violet. The 'Vee' beginning makes such a difference in my opinion.
