I like Mick, Kip and Mack as nicknames. I find Rock and Jock entirely laughable (esp. the last one). I would understand a Charles nn Chip, and I have known a few guys called Skip. I don't think any of them were actually named Skip though. Nat is kinda cool, but I always think of Natalie, rather than a male figure like Nat King Cole. Kit I much prefer on girls.

I like Mack (prefer Mac) and I think that Mick could make a pretty huge comeback, people seem to be sick of Mike and it is kind of cool. Definitely just as nicknames though. I don't care too much for Michael but would be excited to meet one who wasn't called Mike. I think Mack can work for many names, Macsen, Macaulay, Cormac etc.

I like KitJock and Mick are used as slang names for the Scots & Irish which I can't get past. I've never met anyone who was actually called eitherThe rest are nms and except for Nat would probably not work in the UKa kip to me is a power nap :)

The only ones I like are Rock (or Rocky) and maybe Skip (as a nn for Skipper). The others don't appeal to me at all. They seem very old-fashioned, and not in a "ready to make a comeback" kind of way. Maybe I could change my mind if I met a little kid with one of these names, but for now, they're NMSAA :)

Chip = I've met one but I think it's a little cheesy
Skip = Okay but Skipper is better
Kit = sounds very feminine, at least where I live
Mack = Nah, sounds like an old man or an old dog. Also isn't "mack" a verb, like "to kiss awkwardly / drunkenly" or something? Mac is slightly better but I still think of an old man or an old animal.
Kip = Okay. I know one but it's not short for anything.
Nat = Maybe. Usually short for Natalie, Natasha, etc where I live. A boy that has a name that could be shortened to Nat would probably pick Nate, which I like better anyway. Nat also sounds like gnat.
Rock = Sure
Jock = Sounds like a dog
Mick = Meh, Mike is better. Although I don't particularly like either

I'm very fond of Nat and Kit. In fact, Nathaniel is a name we may use someday, and we'd have Nate and/or Nat as a nickname. Kip is cute too. Mac(k) is okay for a male Mackenzie, but as a random nn, like Buddy, I don't like it at all. Chip I can kind of see working, although I automatically think of My Three Sons. I doubt most would have that association at this point, especially not peer aged kids.Skip, Rock (or Rocky), and Jock are ridiculous. I just don't care for Mick.
