[Opinions] Luana
What do you think of Luana? Do you pronounce it loo-AH-na or loo-ANN-a? Is it tacky or country-ish?
Replies
I say Lu-ah-nah because I have a Zia Luana and that is how we pronounce her name.
I never thought it might be pronounced a different way.
I also would never have thought it even a little bit red-neckish. At all.
My Zia is from Umbria (northern Italy) but lives in Rome. She is very posh.
I always thought it a very chic name, probably because of her.
I would use it in a heartbeat.

I pronounce it Loo-AH-na and it's a horrible name
I think it's pretty. I know a girl who was just born who has this as a middle name: Olea Luana. Slurpy like seaweed spaghetti. Ewww.
I pronounce it Lu-ah-na. Luanna would suit the other pronunciation, and is more country-ish.
I had an Aunt Luanne... when I was a kid, I thought her name was so beautiful! Maybe it is. As I got older I got a bias against it, as countrified and frilly.

I would say Loo-Ann-a and yes I think it's a little country.
I'd pronounce is loo-AH-na, with this spelling. (loo-ANN-a would be Louanna for me.)
With the loo-Ah-na pronunciation, I wouldn't say it's tacky or country-ish at all.

I say, "loo-AH-nuh." It reminds me of Hawaiian luaus (= a plus). :0)
Luana = loo-AH-na = not country-ish
Louanna = loo-ANN-a = country-ish
Louanna = loo-ANN-a = country-ish
Yes, it is very redneckish and I say Loo-ANN-a!
