[Opinions] Thora
What do you think of Thora? Do you think it has a possibility, with the popularity of names such as Nora or Cora?Is it too related to Thor and Marvel?

Thora is a nice pleasant name that will age well. To me, Thora sounds like it could be the name of one of the good fairies like Flora and Fauna. It is a name that has been around for a while, so I don't associate it with Marvel. I like it more than Cora, which sounds more dated.

I knew a dog called Thora once. Very pretty critter - German Shepherd. Her owners pronounced it Tora, which puzzled me since they were Jews and you'd think that a word sounding a bit like Torah might be inappropriate.I wouldn't connect it with Thor and Marvel, but others might. I quite like it, though not enough to use myself.

I like it, and it reminds me of Grandma Thora form Arthur!

I recon it could definitely become more popular with the rise of Theodora. It could definitely be a nickname for Theodora.

I love it! I think the doughy "th," which is one of my favorite onomastic sounds, will hinder its popularity, and for that I'm glad.

I have always liked Thora. I first heard it on Thora Birch and thought her name was just so cool. I honestly rarely remember that it is Thor with an -a. With the currently popularity of Marvel's Thor, I am sure more people will see the connection than I do. Note only do I think it is usable, but I think it is simple, sweet and refreshing for a kid today.
