It reminds me of
Milo and
Otis the cute animal movie. It also reminds me of the singer
Otis Redding. But it reminds me more of my uncle
Otis - may he rest in peace - who died of cancer about 8 or 9 years ago.
My uncle
Otis didn't speak much but like my father when he chose to speak he had something important to say. He was a book worm and a stern but kind school teacher. He believed strongly in education and travel.
So when I think of the name
Otis it reminds me of a stern but kind teacher, librarian, professor, or someone who works at a museum.
Otis does feel a little dated to me. Also my uncle
Otis looked and reminded me of a tortoise in his mannerisms.
Otis is even similar to the word tortoise.
I like
Otis but definitely a little dated. The name that reminds me of it a bit and feels less dated is
Linus. Also
Otto which Wordsmith mentioned, it feels less dated but similar.
Otto feels like a more European version of
Otis.
