Jacqueline Chantel is my little cousins name. She only goes by Chantel since Jacqueline is honoring her grandfather Jackie and grandmother Jacqueline.

I've always loved the name Chantel but only if it's spelled this way. I don't like the looks of Chantelle or Chantal.

I don't find either attractive. They sound similar enough to Chanel that Chantal feels about as classy to me as Tiffany. Both Chantal and Tiffany have excellent roots, of course, but they're not exactly the epitome of good taste in my mind.

Plus, I remember that one of the (multiple) times that the character Eric Matthews of the show Boy Meets World dressed in drag, he called himself Chantal. And he was not a pretty woman, let me tell you.

Chantelle is over used, so I don't like it. Chantal is better, but I prefer Chanel.

I agree with you. I really like Chantal, but I dislike Chantelle.

I hate it too. I think Chantal is nicer, but still sounds tacky. There is an idiot Big Brother winner called Chantelle, plastered across every magazine here at the moment. So now the name annoys me even more.
