I really love it! It sounds fancy/regal and weird without being actually weird. I know it use to be (?) a popular name, but I've never met anyone named Tamara so it's really interesting to me.
I prefer Tamora (http://www.behindthename.com/name/tamora/submitted). Mostly because I'm always inclined to pronounce Tamara in a way I don't like that much (tuh-MAYR-uh), but also because of the badass Shakespearean antagonist.
