I like twinsets with themes, as long as the names don't sound too similar. So I'd use Pearl and Margaret, but not Carson and Carter.GPs:G/G

In theory? Never thought much in depth about it. Most twin sets are names I would actually use. I guess my most recent would be:
Ridge & Lyric for twin boys. I like these names and I feel that they go well together but I don't necessarily see myself actually using them. I also think that the names of Tabitha & Matilda make an excellent twin set but I don't care much for either name to actually use them.My most favorite twin set are: (and ones I actually would consider)Elowen & Lydia
Cole & Dean

Romilly and Rafferty, for sure. Gilbert and Gideon? Juno and Hera? Bah, my creativity is zapped. (Also, sorry, but I can't be dealing with Harper and Hunter on girls. How does either seem vaguely feminine?)

I don't like Hunter for a woman, but I am able to understand its appeal, I think. The idea of a hunter evokes resourcefulness and a tension between cooperation with nature and dependence on it - which are appealing connotations regardless of the name's gender, and have a particular appeal as a female name (although it's not my style, I'd rather it be a male name). It is surnamey enough that I don't like it for girls. But I think Hunter has a quality of "blue-state-redneck, or red-state-hippy? not even playing that game" quality that makes it interesting and different from the Carsons and Paytons and Rileys and Harpers.Harper on the other hand just makes me think of harpies, and "harping on" (complaining), and the producers of blandly pleasant background tinklings, so I don't care for that on either sex. If it's either, though, it's feminine... it's just so negative, like Tempest or Piper it seems so petty and diminutive. Aw, she's a Harper, so kewt and sweet - and it's a surname so at the same time, she's a good ol' bubba. Nms.

yup, 100% on your side about Hunter. Definitely a boys name; no doubt.Harper on the other hand is just an awful name for either gender. It just sounds so harsh and gah! I just don't understand the appeal over it. I think it should have just remained as a surname

HarperI'm totally with you about Harper. I've had a deep hatred for that name ever since I was a kid. No words to describe how much I hate it.
vote up1
Exactly. The first time I came across this name, it just didn't appeal to me and it sounded really harsh. Come years later, my opinion upon the name hasn't altered one bit. I'm glad i'll say that I will never use the name; character, pet or actual child. The name is just, so...
Yuck. Bleque

It's Côme and it's the French form of Cosmas. Click a link sometime, you might learn something.

Yeah...I already saw. And I'm fully aware of links. Thanks. I prefer to put in hyperlinks but end up getting surprised when a simple English word turns out to a whole, separate name. That's all.

There's a picture book about a fruit bat named Stellaluna. that ups the oops factor if you didn't already know that.I once read about triplets born in Egypt? Israel? I forget, just not the US, who were born right around the time of the 1979 peace accord, and they were named Carter, Begin and Sadat, after the three leaders involved. That would be kind of cool, I guess, except Sadat would be assassinated just a couple years later, and didn't Begin get killed too?

Begin didn't, but he was a bit of a jerk.
