I love it. It's not *that* likely to be associated with Harry Potter since it's been used on several other fictional characters before.
I don't like it at all.
Ned Flat: Why are you acting like this?
Yakko: We're not acting. We really are like this.
---
Dracula: I am Count Dracula!
Yakko: Didn't you use to teach math on Sesame Street?
---
Yakko: Well it's that time again!
Dot: To make fun of the Disney Channel?

Luna is a gorgeous name and I associate it with the Moon, NOT Harry Potter.

Sorry, but lunatic invariably comes to mind when I see / hear Luna. Just now, Lunesta, the sleeping pill, also came to mind.
I guess I have too many associations that get in the way of loving this name. But I know others love it.

I think of the cat from Sailor Moon.....eek lol. I would use it on a pet but not a baby.
Luna is a beautiful, mysterious name, perfectly usable evne with the Harry Potter reference. It's not nearly as stigmatised as Hermione.
My favourite Luna combo is Luna Gwendolen. Luna, meaning 'moon', almost too perfectly complements Gwendolen and vice-versa as Gwendolen means 'white circle'.
Also, how about Luna Pearl, Luna Daisy, Luna Giselle, Luna Elizabella, Luna Felicity, Luna Beatrice, Luna Cecily, Luna Blythe, Luna Ruth, Luna Fern, Luna Evelyn, Luna Emily, Luna Frances, Luna Rosemary and Luna Imogen?

Luna - I like this name. I like the meaning and the sound too. (it always reminds me of the song: Hijo de la luna)
I don'r really know what modern names are in other countries, I give it a try:
Luna Alexis
Luna Elena
Luna Amaya
Luna Paige
Luna Pelagia
Luna Calanthe
Luna Skylar
Luna Sage
Luna Raine
Luna June
To my sweet muse
Every time you rip my heart out
Every time you break it
I pick up the pen I hold in my hands
And write the most beautiful poems
But you know what
If it's alright by you
I'd rather be happy than a poet

Actually, I didn't know Phoebe meant moon. I knew it meant light, bright, pure. Which makes sense now, an indication of the moon. Out of my combos I liked Luna Phoebe, the best (Luna Phebe would be even better) and it wasn't inentional, just the first that popped into my head :) I love Artemis, so I would naturally love Luna Artemis, or preferably Artemis Luna.
