[Facts] Re: Etymology of Greek names
in reply to a message by Pavlos
Hey Pavlos! Good to hear from you. I hope you are doing okay :)
I just looked around at your website. Fortunately I had Ancient Greek, so I know the alphabet, bc I needed it to navigate. I could find names by clicking on a letter, scrolling down and looking for it alphabetically, but not through the search.
For example:
"Philip" linked to Φαέθουσα (Phaethousa) – Φώτιος (Photios) (even copying and pasting "Φίλιππος" gave methis)
"Alexander" linked to Ἀβάσκαντος (Abaskantos) – Ἀχιλλεὺς (Achilles)
Or maybe I'm just doing something wrong.
Anyway, nice work, bc when I look in the list everything is clearly explained and the blue and pink help :)
I'm kinda curious what you'd do for unisex names (like Pallas, which is pink now, but is used as a male name as well (for the Titan))

Mar, so good to hear from you!
I am not at all happy with the way one searches / navigates Etymologica, but my technical web-design skills are next to zero. Ideally I would like the site to be more like a dictionary (as with BtN) but I just don't know how :-/ Will try to get a little help from some friends!
Thanks for the tip about uniisex names, I may will have to chose another color maybe purple for those :-)
