This is relevant to my interests.
I have tried to make such a list myself, but the issue becomes all existential, like, what is the Canadian identity? We are basically just Americans who are not Americans. All the things Canadians have,
America does too. Maple syrup, flannel, hockey, beavers, pioneers.... and the names of "famous Canadians" are not exactly evocative of Canada. Like:
Laura (Secord)
Louis (Riel)
Tommy (
Douglas)
Bobby (Hull)
Nellie (McClung)
Donald (Sutherland)
Emily (Carr)
Wilfred (Laurier)
Pierre (
Elliott Trudeau)
Agnes (MacPhail)
You see??? Try browsing this list of people for ideas:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Canadians
You could maybe get into Native Canadian stuff which is not a good idea but there are lots of pretty nation and tribe names....
As for place names, we have a similar issue.
HudsonJasperCharlotte(town)
Regina (except we say it "ruh-JYE-nah", not like "re-JEE-na". It's gross)
Abraham (the Plains of. A "Canadian" battle)
Rocky?????
Fraser
Dudley!!!
Dudley Do-Right. Ahh, national pride.
I guess you could do a subtle theme, like
Edward (PEI),
Albert (a), Charlotte(town),
John (St.),
Lawrence (St.),
Regina.... but it would be just that, very subtle. you could give them Canadian middle names:
Edward Lumberjack
Albert Hockey
Charlotte Politeness
John Healthcare
Lawrence Okanagan
Regina Avonlea
