The Crown Princess has made a highly beneficial betrothal to the younger prince of one of their allies during the past war - a proper expression of gratitude and means of strengthening the alliance further. Both kingdoms are pleased by the arrangement, and the two young people are as well. Beatrice is pleased to see it - she remembers her young marriage and her doubts about it well. Hector, on the other hand, is not nearly as suitable in his choices of companionship. Lady Medea is from a noble house of their enemy, one that had long been aggressively against Ybern. The prince claims this will lead to better relations, but most think the conquered house ought not be raised up in this way.
