[Opinions] Re: French BAs
in reply to a message by Pie
I like:
(m)
Ilan Gilles Joel - Ilan's actually quite popular with the Jewish community in France, though nowadays plenty of people who aren't Jewish are using it too
Ilan Jason Thierry
Dylan Dominique Guy - I actually like Dylan better than most foreign names since I have two friends with this name and they're both awesome
Cédric
Clément Marius
Muhammed-Saïd - I'm a big fan of Arabic names.
Thibault
Adrien
Robin
Lucas Gérard Philippe
Valentin Jules
Eliott Jean Alain
Hugo Jude Pascal
Hugo Adrien
Gabin Nicolas
Elowan Guilhem
Axel Armand
Antoine
(f)
Sofia Christine Véronique
Maïlys
Manon Marie-Madeleine
Mélyna Lucette Françoise
Louise Françoise Christine
Alix Jeanne
Tiphaine Ninon
Chloé Colette Roseline
Ysalis
Jeanne Solange Edmée
Naîla
Apolline
Héloïse Lily - One of my cousins has a daughter with this exact name combo.
Mélysse Henriette Marilyne
Aurégane Sylvie Dominique - I know an Aurégane who is in her early twenties. It's of Breton origin. Breton names are kind of the in thing right now. (As to the person who mentioned Oregon...in France, we call Oregon Oregon, just like in English.)
Clémentine
Rita Maïa
Sylvaine
Alice Raymonde Suzanne Louise
Neutral:
(m)
Lyam Robert Hervé - Robert's nice, but I hate Lyam and I really hate Hervé
Nolan Noé
Farès - Is this a variant of the Arabic name Faris?
Samy Renée Pierre Marie - I know feminine middle names are normal for boys here (although, like another user said, it's not as popular as it used to be), but Renée on a boy made me laugh. (It's just like how I find it ridiculous when Anglophones use René on girls - think Rene Russo, for example)
(f)
Lorine Martine - the double -ine ending makes this name repetitive
Esra - I'm guessing her parents are Turkish, since it seems to be a pretty common Turkish name. There's other Turkish names that I like better.
Ysalis
Ambre Stacy Angélique - I hate Stacy, but Ambre and Angélique are lovely.
I dislike:
(m)
Lenny Lary
Kaydon Pierre David - Kaydon sounds like a beauf name.
Lilian - I've always hated this name. I know four little boys named Lilian and they're all rotten brats.
Gaby Raymond Domenico - these names go horribly together
(m)
