[Games] Ishild's Adoption Congrats - sign ups (CLOSED)
I remember someone starting one of these a few weeks back and I liked the idea so I'll try to run one by myself. This is a sign-ups only congrats game due to it's nature. As this will be time consuming for me and I don't want to get crazy, I'll have to limit the number of participants to the first 20 people who sign-up. For now I plan to do 7 rounds and post a new round every other day. Each round you'll adopt child(ren) tailored to your own wishes. The naming rules will be a mix of styles rules, initials, name banks etc. I'll try to vary them every round. If you want to stop playing the game for whatever reason just drop me a short message at the end of the last round you want to play. Otherwise I won't be dropping anyone from the game.To sign up, please fill up this form.Family

Family background (how they met, what do they do for living, why they decided to adopt, what languages do they speak etc., give as much or little detail as you want):
Natalia is a ballet dancer and James used to be her instructor. James was in an accident a number of years ago and now has a prosthetic arm so he no longer teaches. Now, he works an office job at a friend's company and has surprised himself with how much he doesn't mind it. Natalia knows that now that she's in her early 30s that her ballet career can't realistically go on much longer and they want to have a family soon. Because Natalia can't have children, they've decided they will adopt. Natalia and James both speak English and Russian. Adoption form

Because they speak Russian and are somewhat familiar with Ukrainian and know the ways and customs of most Slavic countries, they would prefer to adopt children from this area of the world. (They don't have to speak Russian necessarily.)Are they willing to adopt children with disabilities?:
They do not feel they are equipped to handle children with severe illnesses such as mentally challenged children, but because James has a disability, they are more than prepared to take in children who may deal with similar situations. Also, Natalia's best friend is deaf and she knows quite a bit of sign language so a deaf child wouldn't be an issue either. They are also able to care for mild disabilities like learning disabilities and speech impediments.

DH: Merritt Henry Rossi "Merry" (29)
DW: Ruby Mahalia [Barton] Rossi (27)
Location: San Francisco, California
Do they have any children already?: no
Their naming style: unique, words, classical, ancient
Family background (how they met, what do they do for living, why they decided to adopt, what languages do they speak etc., give as much or little detail as you want):
Merritt was the second son born to Emmaline and Dixon Rossi, third oldest of seven. The Rossis attended the local Catholic church every week for as long as Merry can remember and when he went off to college, he continued that to the best of his ability. While at college, he had doubts about his faith but learned more about it, eventually falling in love with it. He went on after college to work as a mental health therapist. He speaks fluent Italian due to his father's side of the extended family still lives there.
Ruby was the only child of well-to-do parents Caroline and Felix Barton. Growing up, her family didn't really have any religious beliefs. When she moved to California for college, she had a beautiful encounter with God and became a Catholic after delving into the faith and loving it. After she graduated, she and a friend started up a catering business called BB's. She speaks fluent Spanish as well as French (fancy education perks).
Merry and Ruby met by chance at the airport. Ruby was going to visit her parents in Boston and Merry was going to the same location to visit friends from college. They were placed in seats right next to each other on the flight there and hit it off, exchanging numbers at the end of the flight. Neither could stop thinking about the other, so they chose to meet up again back in San Francisco. A year and a half later, Merry proposed and Ruby responded with an exuberant yes. They were married six months later.
A little over a year ago, the couple found out that they couldn't have children of their own. After a lot of thought and prayer, they decided that adoption was the option for them.
