Which name/nickname do you prefer? I'm thinking of changing the name of a longtime character from Sandros to
Sandro, since I can't seem to find any instances of Sandros being used as either a nickname or given name. The character is of Estonian ancestry, born in Russia, and living in the U.S. since 1913, when he was fifteen. The explanation he gives for his name is that his parents wanted it to sound vaguely Greek, because of the roots of their then-religion of Orthodoxy, but Sandros doesn't even seem to be a nickname for
Alexandros.
Is it better to just go with the more usual nickname of
Sandro for
Aleksander?
