[Facts] Given Name: Itrice
My mother's given name was Itrice. She pronounced it as I' tris. I have never seen or heard of this name other than my mother. My mother was from Missouri, and was from Irish, Scottish and western Europe descent.
I have found the male name "Idris" and I'm wondering if someone created Itrice as the female gender of this name.

I just stumbled across this article. I am named Itrice after my mother whose family is originally from Missouri also. My grandmother's music teacher was named Itrice and she liked the name so much that she gave my mom the same name. I thought the name could be of Italian origin but it's just a guess. I wish I knew more.

Your proposal is reasonable, but the |-trice| ending suggests to me:
ITRICE [Fr.] < ITRIX [Lat.] |iter| (journey) + |-(t)rix| (woman).

or originally a short form of another name ending in -trice, such as Beatrice.
