[Opinions] Thoughts on Odette?
.. and do you have any similar name suggestions?

Thanks, everyone!
My sister used to love this name; it was the name of a princess in one of her favourite movies or something. I think it's unusual and pretty.
My sister's other favourite name (the one she's still adamant she'll use for a daughter) is Annalise / Anneliese, and so I also think of those two names together.

LOVE Odette!
Of course it reminds me of Swan Lake, and graceful and beautiful swans in general, but I owe most of that to the 1994 animated movie Swan Princess. It sadly is not as popular as the mainstream Disney princess films, but if people can name their daughters "Ariel" after the Little Mermaid, (which is actually a Hebrew boy name meaning "Lion of God,") you have every right to name your daughter after a gentle swan with the wings of an angel and whose name means, "wealth."

I prefer Odessa.
I like Odette. It's a sweet sounding name. I like names with the -ette ending. I also like that it's not very commonly used.
I have no other suggestions for names that are similar then the ones already listed, unless you want to go broader & look at more -ette names.

Generally, don't care for it. Its not necessarily bad. It just never stood out to me
I think Odette is a lovely name that isn't very popular (at least, not in the States), so chances are a little girl named Odette will be the only one in her class.
My cousin has a one-year-old named Amira Odette, which I loved when I first heard it. As far as names *similar* to Odette are concerned, however, all I can think of is other names beginning with 'O':
Odelia / Odilia
Odessa
Ophelia
Orianne
Ottilia
... etc.
