[Opinions] Re: Stacey
in reply to a message by A
For a boy or a girl?I happen to list Stacey on boys, but prefer the (less legit, I know) spelling Stacie on girls. I do think it is dated... very late seventies and early eighties to me. So, I definately know people my age with the name. However, I like names that are last generation - not quite dated anough to be retro chic, but not new enough to be considered trendy. Stacey is a perfect example. I do prefer names that seem a bit more complete usually (Caroline over Carrie, Cassandra over Cassie, Elizabeth over Lizzie, etc). However, I know that Stacey is one of those names that sound better as is, like Kelly. Still, I think if I were to use Stacey today, I would make it short for Anastasie or Anastasia for a girl. For a boy - I think it is fine as simply Stacey. And, I like it as such. ______________________________________________
