Indiana is more male than female to me. Probably because of Indiana Jones. That was the first Indiana I heard off. I think it works both as a first and middle name but I kind of prefer it as a middle name combine with a more common first name, like Thomas Indiana. Ooh, I really like that.
So, yes, I like Indiana and I think it's usable.
