Hi my name is Anna Doxas, and my last name comes from my Grecian side of the family. What I find interesting and wondering about is my last name sounds so different from other Greek last names, it looks different and is short. I heard my last name means 'Glory' from 'Doxa'. I also heard it could be Latin as well which I doubt is true and means something else. Everyone assumes Greek names are cut short but if Doxas comes from 'Doxa' is that possible? and they added a letter instead? Does anyone know why a family would pick Doxas as a last name and where it could be from would be my point. does anyone know a Doxas in Greece or history of it? I dont know where my grandparents are from but I figure, my greatgrandparents and etc. could have been from other places as well through other times anyway. any info on this last name would be nice to know its origin if you know anything on Greek history.
