[Opinions] That's my daughter's name :)
Margaret "Meg" She's only ever been called Meg, it fits her very well. It wasn't even my first choice for a Margaret nickname (I wanted to call her Margie!), but that was just who she was! I happen to like Megan a lot too, though. She gets called Megan often enough accidently or by people who assume that's her full name. I rarely correct them because, like I said, I like Megan a lot too. I've been thinking of starting to call her that some of the time. She's only 1 1/2, so haven't had too much exposure to people learning her name. I'm curious to see how it will go when she goes to school. So far the only "problem" I've had are people thinking I said her name was "May." If they find out her full name is Margaret usually they say "oh" in a surprised way, or they say "Oh, like in Little Women?!" Ha.

I'm trying to picture adorable little Meg being called "Margie," but I just can't! Meg fits her so well. :)

So do you say it like Mayg? I guess that would make sense for where you live. I'm trying to think of a way to type out the way I say it, and I keep thinking Egg but then I know lots of people pronounce that "ayg". Ah, I say Meg with the "e" in Fred!

I suppose so! I never would describe it that way until I really analyze it. Fred definitely has a "wider" e sound, if that makes sense. Meg does sound more like Mayg. Plus we like to drop consonants, so the g isn't terribly obvious unless I'm being intentional.
