I pronounce it Lie-rah. I think its prettier than way anyway.

ETA: The leer-uh way sounds way to much like leering to be appealing.

I say it lie-rah too.
And Lyra Belacqua of the His Dark Materials triology is the most famous Lyra I know, and in the recordings (and the movie) (which I think was named the Golden Compass) it's said lie-rah.
