My friend messaged me a few days ago to tell me she had a dream that me and my boyfriend had a baby and named her Alliana. The closest name to this sound that I found in the database was Eliana, it's Italian and which apparently related to a Roman surname that may mean 'sun' or something to that effect.
Thoughts?
I think it sounds pretty, but it's not very 'me', I'd like it on someone else's kid.

It's a beautiful name, but too frilly for my personal tastes. I have a friend whose daughter is named this and it is suits her to a tee.
I agree with the other posters that it is perhaps a bit princess-y, but no more so than many other names that are popular right now like Olivia or Isabella.

I really love it. I probably wouldn't use it, though, because it feels like a trendy creation and fits right in with all the soft, vowely, princessy names that are so popular.

The daughter of a couple we know named her daughter Ellianna, or it might be Elliana. They call her Ellie, and it seems the whole point was to be able to call her Ellie. The name Ellianna/Elliana seems awfully frilly to me.

Eliana is Hebrew. I just looked it up though and apparently it has both etymologies.
It's my niece's name, although they spell it differently. I don't like it, but it's not terrible. I think it's too frilly.

I don't like Alliana, but I think Eliana is a pretty name. :)
