[Opinions] Re: BAs where I live
Mia surprises me a little but it's not out of the blue, either, imo. Alec I haven't seen much at all lately. Vincent surprises me a bit, but I love it. :) Viviana is quite surprising, actually. The others are also popular where I live atm (esp. Jaylen, et al, for both sexes...ugh), so no biggie. :b Of the 'remarkable' names -
Good:
Desmond
Azalia - Azalea, like the flower, would be pretty
Lucian
Theo - prefer as a nn for Theodore
Martha
Mariel
Olive
Mercy
Lilith
GentryBad and/or Ugly:
Demostenes
Ixiamarie
Mecka
Om
Da'CourtlandHas anyone else seen names that aren't in top 20 showing up really frequently where they live? -
I work in an NICU, so I get to see the up-and-coming names for our city all the time. Yay for me. LOL! :b Over the last two years, the names I've seen the most that do surprise me--well, at least a tiny bit, because most have just SHOT UP in popularity....
Caleb / Kaleb
Mason
Logan
Ethan
Christian
Isaiah
Jayden / Jaden, etc.
Carson
Caiden, etc. Kaitlyn with every spelling under the sun (I'm only surprised that it's STILL so popular where I live)
Jalen / Jaylon / Jailyn, etc. + Jayla
Reagan / Raegan
Brianna - why is this still so popular?!
Jasmine / Jazmynn, etc. - this is still huge here :(
Kaylee / Kayla / Kaylynn - still huge
Danielle / Danyell - this is still very popular (actually, Danielle, Jasmine and Brianna are extremely popular among African-American parents....not sure why)(I live in north FL, btw)

Yeah, I wasw surprised to see a Catelyn and a Kayla too. What an unfortunately short fad that was - all those poor girls will be so dated.Ethan was all over the place too, and Caden & versions. Reagan: ugh. Didn't see any of those. I wonder why there seem to be such local trends? It can't be that all the parents know each other.. it must just be those "chaotic patterns" :-)Thanks- chazda
