It's a servant. A porter, a butler, a valet, a maid, a nanny.

I could get used to it. It has a nice sound, not too boring.

I like occupation names, but they're kind of GP for me. In an American accent I loathe them, though. Porter is nice, but only in another accent.

All occupation names seem to favour physical labour. Though there was an international soccer player some years back whose given name was Doctor. At least that indicates some kind of aspiration. I'd love to see a kid called Scribe or Librarian or Computypist for a change. But fashion decrees that the world is to be overpopulated with Taylors, Tylers, Hunters, Harpers and now Porters. Go for it - why not? It's marginally better than Cole!

Dislike. It has an unpleasant sound. I knew a dog named Porter. I know someone with Porter as a surname. Just overall a no vote.

I just think of a Port-A-Potty.
