Gladys lives! To my surprise, I know a Gladys in her early 20s - very talented artist now studying architecture. What makes it amazing is that she was born in the DR Congo and lived there until the age of about 3, speaking French and the local language. There's a video of her as a toddler, talking to her grandparents in a language she no longer remembers.
