I doubt everyone will assume that you got the name from Sutton Foster. For my part I have never heard of Sutton Foster before.
I don't think that Sutton sounds like a girl's name mostly because surnames are more often used for boys. I don't like it much. It seems very unmusical and it rhymes with 'mutton.'
