Geordie is a nickname for someone from Newcastle (or that region) so I don't really see it as a name. It seems a bit too juvenile to be used as a full name, but it would work as a nickname for George.
I don't think Geo really works. I say Geo "jee-oh" but Geordie is "jor-dee", so the sounds are different.
