[Opinions] Re: Portuguese university students list
Since when are Alejandro and Anastasia not accepted as names in Portugal? I know at least four Alejandros and two Anastasias, all of whom are fully Portuguese. Same for Sophia Camille. I know a Sophia and a Camille, and while Camille has French ancestry, both her parents are nationals. On another note, Zita Emanuela and Ifigénia are very pretty. I like Anselmo, Tatiane, Marianne, Remi, Pavlo, Anastasia, Patrocínia do Carmo, Petronilho, and Sandrina. And I don't think I've ever met an Olinda under thirty either. Heehee.

They are either not on the list of accepted names, or they have been rejected. Anastasia and Camille don't show up and both Alejandro and Sophia are marked as 'not accepted'. I actually know the Sophia Camille in question and her mother is English - something similar may be the case with the people you know.Or they may have been born in another country, given names usual in that country and the parents petitioned to have those names accepted here. You can check said list here: http://www.irn.mj.pt/sections/irn/a_registral/registos-centrais/docs-da-nacionalidade/vocabulos-admitidos-e/downloadFile/file/Lista_de_nomes30-09-2012.pdf, if you weren't already familiar with it.
