I'm not entirely fond of this spelling, but I love Freda!It's gorgeous, it sounds ladylike, funky and fresh to me. I only have good associations with the name worked with a Frida (she was in her 20's) on a play last summer, she was very sweet, and of course there is the great Frida Kahlo.

Freda was my mother's name. So, I love it. Her full name was Freda Jean;I'm named Jean after her.

How could I have overlooked Freda Gwendolen? Those lovely, heavy "d" and "g" sounds bounce off each other beautifully. Enchanting. I think I'll steal that one for a poll, unless Wordsmith objects. :-)

Did you know Freda (this spelling) is a family name for me? Did you know that I just named a cat Freda, after a great-aunt? Did you know that I have been wandering in the Freda wilderness for years waiting for another soul to cross my path?
