[Opinions] Sydney
WDYT of Sydney for a girl? Do you prefer Sidney? I know Sydney is perceived as feminine whereas Sidney is seen mostly as male or unisex but I kind of like the look of Sidney, even for a girl. It has a dark blue color which I prefer over the color I get for Sydney. On the other hand I really like the city.I know some people from Australia post here, would you find it weird to meet a Sydney? Just wondering ;)The popularity seems to be going down quickly, might be usable again soon. Too dated?

I live in Australia. I've never met any Sydneys (though I did meat a guy named Sidney). Personally I don't see a problem with it. It's just a name.I lived in Sydney until I was 12.

I prefer Sydney to Sidney for both genders. And I like the name on both genders. I'm softening up on popularity a bit. Considering the vast variety of names being used, a name ranking 40 or 30 really isn't getting used a ton. It's the top 5-10 that really annoy me.

Sorry but I really really dislike Sydney on a girl, I find it tacky and awful - one of the unisex names that I would hate to see on a female. When I was a kid Sydney was my all-time favourite boys name and therefore I can't see it in any other way. Sidney looks dated on either sex but I would prefer it on a girl than Sydney.
Then there's always Sidonie, for a similar sounding name?
