Please , don't use the NN Kitty. It sounds like an old woman. But Kit is cute.
Why not go in a different way and try:
Rain , Rayne , Rine , Rynn , Rin , Rinn or Ryan (kathaRINE)

Ryan - a boy's name.
Rayne - Rain from the sky
Rynn - trendy

Sorry to be blunt. As for a name "sounding like an old woman" - I'd rather that then have her called something that has no history.

Well , I'm sorry but everytime I go to the nursing home their are a cicle of old woman and atleast one is called Kitty. I'm sorry if you don;t like the idea of using the RINE instead of KATH but I was just trying to help. ( I still think RIN is cute)
